In order to maintain a tidy and pleasant environment in Eikeberget housing cooperative, it is important that all residents follow the routines for waste management. This contributes to lower costs for the housing association and reduces the risk of odors and pests.
We have buried containers for residual waste, cardboard/paper, biowaste (food waste) as well as glass and metal. All household/residual waste and food waste must be placed in bags, which must be tied tightly before being disposed of in the correct container.
It is not allowed to put waste outside the containers. If the container is full, the waste must be taken back. It is also not allowed to leave waste in the housing association's common areas, including the garage and outdoor areas.
Waste that should not be thrown in the containers: textiles and shoes are bagged and delivered in collection boxes for clothes or in a recycling shop. Examples of collection boxes are Fretex at Rema 1000 and in the IKEA parking lot.
Hazardous waste: all types of batteries and everything that uses batteries, small electronics, light bulbs and wires, cooking oil in a closed can or bottle, leftover paint, stain or varnish, and aerosol cans. Each resident can order their own small red container through collection waste. no Stavanger or call the Citizen Service on phone number 51507090. Collection of the waste is ordered through henteavfall.no or call citizen service. The container is then placed at the agreed time by the buried containers with the lid on. Hazardous waste can also be handed in free of charge at Ivar's recycling station. IVAR's recycling station at Forus accepts furniture, white goods, construction waste and larger objects, website: https://www.ivar.no/forus/
Garden waste: We have our own emptying area for garden waste; grass, leaves, branches and garden plants without soil. This is located on the left
side by the garage door. Here you will find 4 containers for garden waste. Note that soil should not be thrown into the containers.
