Did you know that you can order your own containers for hazardous waste?
Stavanger municipality is the red bin intended for hazardous waste. This includes things like batteries, paint, pesticides, and small electrical appliances. When the bin is full, you can book a collection for free on hentavfall.no or by contacting the municipality. Large quantities of hazardous waste can be delivered to the recycling station at Forus.
What can be thrown in the red can?
Batteries: All types of batteries, including car batteries.
· Paints and varnishes: Both water-based and oil-based paints, varnishes and similar products.
· Pesticides: Insecticides, herbicides, and other chemicals for plant treatment.
· Small electric: Blow dryers, shavers, electric toothbrushes, mobiles, etc.
· Aerosol cans: Hairspray, canned cream, etc.
· Fluorescent lamps and energy-saving bulbs:
· Oil: Car oil, engine oil, cooking oil, etc.
· Solvents: Rubbing alcohol, white spirit, acetone, etc.
How to book a pick-up:
1. Go to hentavfall.no.
2. Order collection of hazardous waste.
3. Fill the red can and put it out at the agreed time.
Alternatively:
· Contact Stavanger municipality directly to book a pick-up or get more information.
· For larger amounts of hazardous waste, you can deliver it to the recycling station at Forus.
Important:
· Hazardous waste should not be disposed of with ordinary residual waste.
· Delivery of hazardous waste at the recycling station is free of charge.
· Make sure hazardous waste is properly packaged to avoid leaks.
In Eikeberget Housing Association, the red containers are placed next to the buried containers and you book a time for collection yourself. The container is 40 cm long, 33 cm wide and 30 cm high
